Donations (Thank You!)

Here’s just a few pictures of some of the donated instruments we’ve recieved.

Here's a beautiful guitar another generous soul donated at our Car-Fi (Springfield) drop-off location. This instrument will help an underprivileged child pursue a musical journey that was unobtainable without assistance.

Donavon Bankhead of Springfield Music presents a check for $1800 to Play It Forward SWMO. This account will be used to purchase and repair instruments for children that cannot afford to take part in the music experience.

Here's Jennifer Trainer Reisch bringing two guitars in to Springfield Music to drop off and donate them them to Play It forward SWMO. Ruell's brother Alan Chappell is helping her with the guitars. Jennifer is a personal trainer and a local musician that plays with The Swivel Sisiters. Thanks Jennifer!

From David Smith (Musician at Roy Clark and Tour Driver at Mel Tillis Productions): Got to see my ole friend Ruell Chappell and deliver some more instruments to him for Play it Forward. After seeing Kelly and I's post, our friend in Oregon, Mike Miller sent us his gift of 2 electric guitars. Thank You Mike! and Ruell Thanks you!, Great Gift! They will be placed in the hands of some great kids! So Post and share Play it Forward! it really works!

Here's Ric Lund with a nice "experienced" Conn trumpet that was donated at our Car-Fi (Springfield) drop-off location. This will make some young potential musician very happy. Big thanks to the generous donor!

Wes Walker dropped this nice guitar off with our friend Jennifer Reisch to be donated to Play It Forward SWMO. Thanks Wes!

Stopped by Springfield Music to pick any donated instruments and this is what was waiting for us! A big holiday THANK YOU to all the thoughtful folks who brought these in to help needy children with musical aspirations. We also would like to thank Donovan Bankhead and the staff at Springfield Music for helping our cause. They are a local company that has supported early music education in Springfield since the early 60s.

Fair Play Music Department – April 2016

Play It Forward SWMO is proud to announce our first donation to a local school partner. The Fair Play Music Department was the recipient of two saxes, two trumpets, a coronet, and a keyboard. Notable is the fact that Fair Play is one of the only remaining 1A schools with a music program due to budget cuts.

Students and staff from the Fair Play High School Music Department help Ruell unload the donated instruments and carry them inside.

A couple of the students excitedly check out a donated coronet.

And two trumpets to add to the school's brass section.

When Ruell delivered the instruments the staff was shocked...and so happy!

Getting ready to show some Hornett pride!

The smile says it all.

This donation was generously facilitated by Jennifer Carpenter (far left). Also pictured is Superintendent Renee Sagaser and Music Educator Leanda Shaw.

Queen City Rock Camp

Play It Forward SWMO is THRILLED to make our very FIRST DONATION of instruments to Queen City Rock Camp at Drury University, a camp for girls 8 to 18 years of age, under the direction of Hannah Sheehan!

Just so you know that we don't just ask OTHERS to donate instruments, Ruell donated a Korg Keyboard and stand and a full drum set including hardware and cymbals. Additionally, Matt Miller, of Epreciate, was kind enough to donate a Strat and a five string electric bass! This is a perfect example of what PLAY IT FORWARD SWMO does. Thanks Matt!
